This is a short film I made for University based on the poem "Sounds of the Day" by Scottish poet Norman MacCaig. I created and filmed all of the visuals. I wanted to convey the melancholic nature of the poem, as well as my own ambiguous take on it. I felt that the poem was about a person who lost the love of their life somehow, and is trying to get over the heartbreak and suffering of a breakup or bereavement. This was the first ever short film I've made; I was quite new to using specific camera angles, filming on location, as well as telling my dad how to act! Please enjoy the video shown below.
